Simple Machine Forum (SMF)

• Ref: SMF joomla bridge中文編碼出錯 v2

• Installation notes per Ref:

1. SMF v1.1.1: "smf_1-1-1_install.tar.gz"
2. SMF bridge: "com_smf_1-1_joomla_1-1-6_bridge.zip"
3. Joomla: "Joomla_1.0.11-Stable-Full_Package(Chinese).tar.gz"

--> install Joomla -> then SMF -> then SMF bridge

• During SMF installation: DON'T select "Use UTF-8 as default character set"

(如果，在安裝時選了，在使用時SMF就會變成亂碼（儘管你本來就使用UTF-8），詳細情形我也不知道原因。) In case you have installed SMF with this optioned selected, simply correct it by commenting/removing the following line in the configuration file "Settings.php" directly under the SMF directory:

--> $db_character_set = 'utf8';

• After installed SMF bridge: 要把 "Synchronize language from mambo/joomla to smf" 這個選 "No", otherwise you will get the error message at the bottom of the SMF forum:
