Outlook: Why 2 or more contacts of the same name are displayed after search?

• Assume:

1. Outlook 2007: v12.0.6212.1000 SP1 MSO (12.0.6213.1000)
2. Samsung Kies: Kies_2.0.0.11014_49.exe
3. PDA Phone: Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 | Spec | Menu

• Ref:

• Ans: Most likely, you have two or more similar Outlook data files existed in Outlook!

• Checkout the problems through the following procedures:

-> In Outlook top menu, go "Tools" -> "Options" -> "Mail Setup" -> "Data File"

-> you most likely find two or more data files being listed,

1. e.g C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
2. and D:\hdata\Outlook\Outlook_h.pst

• So simply remove one of them to correct the problem:

1. First determine which one, Outlook.pst or Outlook_h.pst, is the most updated one, or the one that you want to keep!
2. Select the one that you want to remove, e.g. "Outlook.pst", by clicking on it
3. click on "Remove" icon
4. Close Outlook, and restart the computer
5. That's it!

• You may also find the following problems, due to 2 or more similar outlook data files:

• Contacts are duplicated twice or more in Outlook
• Contact is updated in Outlook, but cannot sync to my Galaxy Ace
• Some Contacts cannot be found in Galaxy Ace even after Sync
• Contact's Notes cannot be sync to Galaxy Ace!
